Gears Of War 2 – Symbiotics
I recently purchased Gears of War 2 for Xbox 360 over the weekend and although I am only a few hours in I am enjoying myself greatly. The look of the game is certainly in keeping with its creators; Epic. What I am most impressed by within the game is the highly intelligent and fluid cover system Epic has created.
Classic Game Review: Reversal 1981Dan and Kathe Spracklen, who wrote the computer chess program Sargon, now introduce Reversal, a computerized version of Othello. In case you don’t know how Othello is played, the object of the game is to trap your opponent’s pieces between two of yours. Those pieces are then turned over and become yours.
Classic Game Review: Time Traveller 1981TIME TRAVELER is a text oriented game in which you are sent back in time to find 14 rings. Each ring is hidden in a different time period from 1350 B.C.
Classic Game Review: Mission Escape 1981In MISSION ESCAPE you play the role of a star commando who has escaped the cell on an Imperial security station. Like the legendary Luke Skywalker and Hans Solo you flee from level to level fighting imperial storm-troopers, robots, and drones as you attempt to reach the tenth level and escape. Don’t be fooled by the arcade type screen that you see when you play the game.
Classic Game Review: Odyssey 1981ODYSSEY was the program that sold me on an Apple computer. At that time, the graphics were the best I had seen on a computer game. ODYSSEY and its predecessors, “Wilderness Campaign” and “Dungeon Campaign”, are still very good programs, although ODYSSEY is undoubtedly the best (as well as the most time consuming) of the three.
Classic Game Review: Mind Thrust 1981MIND THRUST is a game played between you and the Computer. The goals are straightforward: 1.) To remove all opposing playing pieces, or 2.) To be the first to create a continuous chain of your pieces across the width of the board.
Classic Game Review: Dragons Eye 1981Each computer gaming company has areas in which they excel. One area in which Automated Simulations excels is their satisfying portrayal of individual combat. From the Temple of Apshai on we have seen them develop software that gives us exciting hi-res battles.
Classic Game Review: Eastern Front 1981Before dawn on June 22, 1941, Hitler unleashed what he called “the largest military assault in history”. Following the preliminary air bombardment, three million German and other Axis soldiers crossed the Nazi-Soviet treaty line beginning the now famous “Operation Barbarossa”. Hitler envisioned another blitzkrieg type campaign which would knock Russia out in four or five months.
Game Review: Fallout New Vegas (2010)The new Fallout New Vegas video game is out and it has a lot to live up to. It’s predecessor, Fallout 3, represented over 300 million dollars in retail sales within its first two months of existence. Maker Bathesda certainly has a way of starting games off.
Fable 3 ReviewWelcome to Albion. You’re back to become the King/Queen.
Amazing Game: DarksidersOne of the first things you’ll notice when you start playing this game is how simple it is to get into the combat and how easy it is to pull off stylish moves such as swings, uppercuts, dash attacks and more. And while the game doesn’t award you for disposing off your enemies in style it still feels good to pull off these moves because the combat is very fluid and swinging your sword like a baseball bat and throwing your enemies to a distance never feels old.
Classic Game Review: The Break Out GameBalls are a bit ‘in’ at the moment. Especially, it would appear, when they are smashing multicoloured bricks to pieces. Breakout clones are suddenly appearing in vast quantities and spreading faster than Word star or Knight Lore clones did.
