The race for the genre’s crown of best is always a very exciting occurrence. Last year Codemasters won the BAFTA award with an excellent re-introduction to F1 racing, a title that received high honours from this site among others. Now they’re introducing Dirt 3, is it another potential winner? Let’s find out.

An important step in the evolution of video games was the introduction of many secret objectives, bonus points, extra quests and various other missions tangential to the main story. Yet even today what you do and see is still seriously hampered by the vision of the game’s creator. There just plain isn’t enough variety.

Adventure games have always been the tragic elder of video game genres. Batheo is a RPG strategy game based in ancient Greece. It is set in a time where there are no more Gods leading the people and humans have continued to attack each other in may wars. This game does exactly what it sets out to do, combat is well-paced, visceral, and unrelenting. Ranged and melee are equally enjoyable, although a tendency of the melee AI to stand in your line of fire may give sword-and-board hounds an advantage. The game’s ranged, over-the-shoulder perspective can be a little off-putting at first but soon feels natural.

Developed by polish developer CD Projekt, The Witchers 2 takes place nearly six months after the first game. The prologue kickoff in a prison, where Geralt of Rivia, our protagonist, is being interrogated in connection with the murder of the King. Then on, the game oscillates between Geralt’s prison break and the events that led to his imprisonment, where you find out that he was wrongly accused of murder.

Not many games get to incorporate with it a whole new theory about the earth’s weirdest phenomenons, even if the phenomenon and the theory is only make believe. Dark Dimensions – City of Fog is one such game as it tackles a new theory called “dark dimensions”. And frankly, I’m sensing sequels in the air for this adventure casual game.

Pokie Ninja is a fun browser game based on the hit anime series, Naruto. It’s a fighting game and upon registration, you get to choose which of the 18 ninjas from the anime you would like to be. Out of the 18 you can be, all of them will be recognizable for fans of Naruto. There’s Gaara, Shikumaru, and even the chubby Choji. Sadly, the main characters such as Naruto himself and even Sakura are not playable.
