Trey Parker and Matt Stone have essentially won television. Since South Park’s inception in 1997, it’s earned Emmy nominations in the double digits, and has gone on to win roughly half the time. It’s been on scores of ‘Best Television Show’ and ‘Best Cartoon’ lists, from Time, TV Guide, Entertainment Weekly, and Rolling Stone, just to name a few. It didn’t take them long to move on to the silver screen, acting in BASEketball, and writing, starring in and producing multiple cult and commercial hits such as Orgazmo, Cannibal! The Musical, and Team America: World Police. The inevitable South Park movie treatment was largely successful and even nominated for a ‘Best Original Song’ Oscar. In more recent years, Trey and Matt have even met with accomplishment on Broadway. Their smash hit The Book Of Mormon went on to win numerous Tony Awards, including Best Musical. Trey and Matt hope to bring that success to the video game arena next by bringing their fictional ‘quiet mountain town’ to life on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in the recently released South Park: The Stick of Truth.

Game Dev Tycoon is the first video game developed by Greenheart Studios, and shows great promise. You take on the role of a game developer, reliving the early years of the gaming industry in your garage, upgrade to offices and beyond, and live in the modern day of gaming, and even beyond! When you begin, you start off in a garage, and as a programmer, you will begin creating your first games during the early years of the gaming revolution.

After the dismal Assassin’s Creed III, Ubisoft is set to return to greatness with the fourth installment of the killer franchise. One of the fundamental problems of the previous game was that it just wasn’t that much fun. After extensively playing through the game and trying out all of its tricks, it’s safe to say the Assassin’s Creed franchise is back on its feet.

The problem with new consoles is trying to find a game to showcase your expensive purchase. With Ryse: Son of Rome, developer Crytec tries to make the decision easier for you. The real question is should you bother? When this game was first announced in 2010, people were mildly optimistic. Originally it was set to be a Xbox 360 game that would showcase the new Kinect peripheral. After that E3 showing we never really heard about it again, until the announcement of the Xbox One. With negative buzz surrounding the game, can Ryse: Son of Rome warrant a purchase along with your new Xbox One?

This is my review of the latest title in Ubisoft’s Asssassin’s Creed series, Black Flag from 2013. I look at it from the point of view of a relative series newcomer.

Cook Serve Delicious is a restaurant simulator where you must handle orders, create the orders, and serve them to customers, while at the same time handling chores and two rush hours each day. The game features multiple varieties of foods including Mexican, American, Asian, and Italian. Each food requires its own prep and creation, with “recipe cards” that add new varieties for each upgrade.

Rocksteady Games delivers an epic tale with the PlayStation 3 video game release, Batman Arkham City. This second installment following the equally stellar game, Batman Arkham Asylum, takes the already strong Batman formula and improves on it in every way.

Dark Souls is an action role playing video game which takes place in an open world environment by Namco Bandai Games. It is an unapologetic test of patience as it is a brutal and demanding third-person action-RPG.

I am a keen player of online games and so that makes me always look for new and exciting games. It is obvious that the quality of games that are being released online these days are of higher quality than the games of last years. The only disappointing aspect is the repetitive concept that is being used in most games. That is the reason; I personally consider games with new concept to be the best ones.
